I am very sorry for no posts in such a long, long time. I have in fact been manically revising for exams and then went on holiday and basically I have been incredibly busy.<br />
<br />
Anyhow, I now intend on starting a blog post series about photography tips. The idea is that i will post tips which i have myself picked up over the years, or looked up and learnt recently myself. My aim of this is to encourage you all to take photos, and have a love for photography like me!<br />
<br />
Furthermore as I am now FREE from high school I intend on posting a lot more often than usual and I am very excited to do so too!<br />
Speak to you soon xxAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09748835279316850854noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584962523649972338.post-73348670979585533052014-05-14T11:36:00.000-07:002014-05-14T11:36:28.125-07:00Nursery RhymesAs a child I loved nursery rhymes but of course not all nursery rhymes are the usual childish sort, many have deeper meanings. A few years ago I wrote a short story based on the true meaning of a nursey rhyme so here goes...<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">A ring a ring o’ roses.
What’s wrong with me? Rashes all over my body, big red spots bulging out of my
skin, atishoo, atishoo! I can’t stop sneezing. The doctor came in to examine
me, but I screamed with terror! He had a huge cone shaped, bird like beak covering
his face. He walked slowly to my bed and leant over me and I could smell the
aroma of fresh thyme and lavender coming from his mask. The doctor asked me to
lift my arms up and he had a look for something, then he turned to my mother
and she gasped. I thought it was weird but when I looked down at my armpits, I could
see a great big purple blotch erupting out of me. Then I could see bright
yellow puss oozing out of the giant spot and the doctor wrapped a cloth around
me. I started crying but then he took me outside and led me to a sewer! He told
me to sit in it for an hour and then to go back to my bed and see if I feel
better in the morning, and then he was gone! <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">In the morning I woke up and
felt much better! The doctor came in, holding a chicken and asked how I was
feeling. Then he placed the chicken’s bottom on my spots! I said nothing but
squirmed the whole time. Later on the priest came in and I heard him talking to
my mother downstairs. Then I could hear him coming up the stairs as the
floorboards were creaking and he swung the door open. However when the priest
entered, his jolly face turned into a red, scowled angry face. He ran straight
down the stairs again and shouted to my mother “The wicked kid has caught the
plague!” And I could hear my mother crying. When she came upstairs her eyes
were swollen and her face was red. Mother gave me a pocket full of posies to
sleep with to make me better. She rocked me to sleep…<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I woke with a sudden thud at
the door and I heard mother answer. I crept halfway down the stairs and saw
some of the locals painting a red cross on the front of the door and the doctor
talking to mother. The floorboards creaked, mother turned and came up to see me.
She sent me to my bed straight away and when I asked what was happening she
told me not to worry. Before I went to bed mother asked me how I was feeling
and I explained I felt much, much better and that tomorrow I wanted to go
outside and play with the other children. Mother replied “Maybe” and kissed me
on the forehead…<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><span style="font-family: "Courier New";">The next day when she woke, the girl sneezed
and sneezed and sneezed. Her feeling better had given false hope. Atishoo,
atishoo we all fall down…………………………<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>

<br />
With it recently being Easter, I went on a little trip to Bath. I had a lovely time there and thought I would share my top places to visit if you happen to go to Bath in the future, or perhaps you will feel tempted to visit from reading this post. <br />
<br />
1) The Roman Bath’s Museum. <br />
This is probably the main reason I came to Bath. I love history and discovering the baths used by the Romans was really interesting. As you enter the museum you find out all about how it was excavated to which baths the Romans used for which purposes – you can even try the water from the fresh thermal springs! A must see location. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-qs_GZE9bDGw/U2KZN9W8uqI/AAAAAAAAnMU/BfDtEot5oYg/s1600-h/DSC01031.jpg"><img alt="DSC01031" border="0" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-zfra4FkGzUY/U2KWNejFfzI/AAAAAAAAnMc/GoBX-5HQkZA/DSC01031_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" height="768" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSC01031" width="576" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2N-tqgnat6r5KrEenevzRCpm6BF8hVUnpkquV5EMOrZJ28wirEwv6umD3dq5XQFM1ZcF2Q6TXws7BOy8S80YGnU_fP3XqBBc6hCVlAr71Y9xmsG1PWgjySiJ_H0N1a4P6_WGq1Zj4Ak/s1600-h/DSC009926.jpg"><img alt="DSC00992" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg32Q1dGeTof_r2Hql601LoVcOR6QtSVWlrr0VzsrU0FKi9e1vQcKhfOrYRg0iOdw0oYWebAxqWRIAOkS5wG2-d1qKCqQutFOWkjbU_snlywGrxOrTezpsorvTpF4zQsVl_rmbs5t_Jr18/?imgmax=800" height="480" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSC00992" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
2) Bath Abbey. <br />
The abbey is really quite the same as many others however, although I take part in this, you could go on a tour around it or go up the tower to get a city view of bath. Situated next to the Roman Bath museum this was a great place to visit however it was quite expensive at about £5 per adult just to enter the building (but this money would be spent on maintenance). <br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-HY64bA_WCNI/U2KWRRynGeI/AAAAAAAAnJg/udcMknmqtsM/s1600-h/DSC009936.jpg"><img alt="DSC00993" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir9WhVPtGuNyko439zNSJi4n1uwM6fvILshA42LvYrmBkOaDPiM2K8QKOXTeBIbYV3DQdSLY5phxtfGl-ybtFZyh2uy60070_eHNhyphenhyphenFCs9Wea51EBtWkRaL0OZ1UdlPoWtL5Kt6X0kJJg/?imgmax=800" height="480" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSC00993" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
3) The Royal Crescent and The Circus. <br />
Although they may just seem like a bunch of buildings (which they are), the circus and the royal crescent are popular sights to see in Bath because they represent bath life and typical Jane Austen era houses. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-TYYBBRJFC24/U2KWTlLfJzI/AAAAAAAAnJw/qoEkAHucLE0/s1600-h/DSC009896.jpg"><img alt="DSC00989" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7GCaIOlmM6k33b4JFd9Xsvwjy7Jj4RAAfsTv2DoHDMdDo7c185CqlELPc9T7_9Zpi7AAtR-jph8XTiCQOTTiyCTntry0u7AyavpELssHX9jmbEVxR4Y6TPMJKdCbi75NBVBbPoBYw464/?imgmax=800" height="141" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSC00989" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />

<br />
4) Pultney Bridge.<br />
A really pretty bridge which overlooks Bath river. The bridge has shops and cafés on top of it which makes it a great place to go to. I went in one of the coffee shops and sat next to one of the windows overlooking the river – it was really peaceful and relaxing. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-t0BXJyOJJJQ/U2KWXMmzCSI/AAAAAAAAnKQ/4s-uiS5h98U/s1600-h/DSC010676.jpg"><img alt="DSC01067" border="0" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-pYyyRfD4Ej4/U2KWYbaQaTI/AAAAAAAAnKY/THFcF1RkMdA/DSC01067_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" height="480" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSC01067" width="640" /></a><br />

<br />
5) <a href="http://www.thermaebathspa.com/" target="_blank">Thermae Bath Spa.</a><br />
Genuinely the best experience ever. Although very pricey, it is definitely worth it, this thermal spa contains 4 floors – one of which overlooks the cityscape of bath as a rooftop pool. Furthermore there are scented steam rooms and other facilities that make the experience amazing. Don’t miss this opportunity if you are to visit bath because the views are really stunning and the baths are super relaxing. <br />
<br />
<img src="http://www.thermaebathspa.com/resources/image_library/lgrfp954gk.jpg" height="366" width="900" /><br />
<br />
6) <a href="http://www.museumofcostume.co.uk/" target="_blank">Fashion Museum of Bath</a> and <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/bath-assembly-rooms/" target="_blank">Bath Assembly Rooms</a>.<br />
The fashion museum may not be for everyone but it was certainly very interesting. I just enjoyed viewing the different fashions from different eras and noticing that the styles repeat themselves. Furthermore the assemerly rooms are perhaps not that exciting but if you are passing by, its certainly worth taking a little look at the beautiful chandeliers. <br />

<br />
7) Bath Balloons.<br />
Again, i didn’t go on a balloon ride myself, however I have heard its a truly beautiful view, especially at sunset – showing the true beauty England can offer!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.christinawest.co.uk/photography/photography.html" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://www.christinawest.co.uk/photography/images/bath%20balloons.jpg" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" /></a><br />
<br />
8) Clifton Suspension Bridge Bristol.<br />
Not in bath, but very close by. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is interesting and quite fun to walk over however as you can see the weather wasn’t at its best when i visited. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-UZXg-6RzlEI/U2KWdtHTl_I/AAAAAAAAnLA/2vV5vpR9sw4/s1600-h/DSC00911%25255B15%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSC00911" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjC3uVS0GdZAxGWP-rTQSxaHIdBNE4c_ZPMKVaTCDp6ZHv8NimStbDvtUsUmMc7VRJxIm5mPComG3ADBUnMiEXmQFrvXtzXnXrxZ6lh6fcsef0QEO8ywnRuKMlbTkk9CncrXoie9gTeVU/?imgmax=800" height="480" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSC00911" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
9) <a href="http://www.ssgreatbritain.org/" target="_blank">SS Great Britain Bristol.</a><br />
“A really cool boat”. The SS great Britain is a really exciting and well presented museum. Being able to view the ship as it would have been used and to smell the scents made the museum a really cool experience. <br />
<br />

10) The Coffee Shops. <br />
The main culture of Bath was the coffee shops – do not miss out! Bath coffees are especially strong and there were so many little coffee shops and quaint cafés that you cant walk down a single street without being able to pop in and have a coffee and cake. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.kindlingcoffee.co.uk/" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://www.cosycoffeeshops.co.uk/images/09_05_31_kindling_bath_9.jpg" height="376" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" width="500" /></a><br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed reading this slightly different post on my short holiday to bath. If you want, let me know in the comments whether you have visited Bath and any places you thought i should have mentioned! 1) This watch is from Lisa Angel and i had wanted a watch for so long, so when i finally received this for Christmas i was super happy! I think its really cool; looking vintage but at the same time fashionable with the studded strap. <br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-F8FBi3t87M4/UzSMOkEwk9I/AAAAAAAAnHc/DhxlBH_zrUE/s1600-h/DSC00251%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="DSC00251" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVoL7LE9IzfnARHcYH9HwZtIyctWGaWrS3b2KbZ-PcGd5cEvFdyO03bx9RyP_Af_NUZlLMDmC0au5CbtJKkKDqrYQ8-WlGotqL2T724YbBdn7Mn-EeJEiB32cgI7G1QLu2VslY25bWGRc/?imgmax=800" height="480" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="DSC00251" width="360" /></a><br />
2) This nail varnish is probably the best top coat nail varnish! It is so pretty with the glitter and its not too pricey either. Being from 17 its a pretty good make and the polish lasts a long time too. It’s also really easy to apply with a reasonably thick brush and i have had it a while now and never had problems with it being gloopy. <br />

4) Its a little elephant! I love this pendant necklace from accessorise, i believe it is one of my only pendant necklaces i own and i think it was a fab buy. Although it was about £10 it was definitely worth it as i wear it basically all of the time and i love the detail. What do you think? <br />

5) Okay, so yes this is one of my current favourites however, unfortunately for you, its not available on the high street. These dangly earrings with the hand of Fatima on are from my holiday in Tunisia so they could be available on the internet but i have not checked. These are really light and i love them because they look so different and very pretty. They also give me luck, haha!<br />
<br />

Although it is slightly different to usual, it focuses on a similar topic to my <a href="http://letsadventureblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/the-truth-about-disney.html">truth about Disney</a> post, which focused on women rights and their identity. This time, I am posting about how uniform prevents a person from presenting their creative personality. <p> <p>Nowadays uniform is a continual debate. All schools in the UK enforce a dress code and the majority have adopted a school uniform. Even at a very young age, children have to wear it. But why do schools persist on students wearing uniform? <p>Most schools will explain that uniform is what makes the school a community. Undoubtedly it allows a student to have a sense of belonging, pride and dignity within their school. Additionally it makes the school look smart and professional which therefore in turn encourages discipline and promotes teamwork in the school. <p>Yet despite this, one of the main issues with uniform is the obliteration of a student’s personal identity because they are unable to express their personality. Especially at 16 years old, teenagers go through the stage where they need to express themselves and part of that is in what they wear in order for them to find out ‘who they truly are’. Uniform means students have a lack of freedom and it doesn’t allow them to make their own choices - specifically in high school as uniform is a burden to students because they are supposed to finally be treated as young adults. Surely that is not fair? <p>On the other hand, the main advantage of uniform is to prepare children for the huge ‘world of work’; teaching them to take pride in their appearance. But what type of world are schools talking about? In fact, it seems that uniform is encouraging students to work in an environment where a uniform is obligatory such as clothes shops and even McDonald’s. Whereas successful businessmen actually choose what they wear each day, and they just have a dress code. Doesn’t a smart dress code make more sense than wearing a uniform? <p>Obviously uniform allows students to stay safe because there is no opportunity to get lost on school trips with their recognisable blazer, tie and school logo. It also means students can concentrate more on school, in that there are fewer distractions. Clearly, student attire also helps to identify any intruders who may enter the school and any student who may be skipping a day off school to go shopping for example. <p>Moreover uniform means no one would be bullied as a result of their clothing choice such as a lack of designer labels which therefore means it diminishes the economic barriers. Uniform also eliminates social grouping which may be due to individual dress code such as ‘chavs’ (who would typically wear fake designer gear) and ‘Goths’ (who stereotypically wear all black). Many parents would also agree school ‘is to learn’; it is not a ‘fashion parade’… <p>However it is a well known fact that students do not actually benefit from school uniforms. They do not encourage attendance, they do not make students better behaved and they certainly do not improve student’s grades. For example, 75% of schools without a uniform actually receive better or the same grades as schools which require uniform. In addition to this, as well as most uniforms being uncomfortable, there is also the difficulty of finding a size that actually fits, and nearly 90% of school uniforms are of bad quality material. <p>Although you may be thinking uniform is still the better option, I disagree. You may say that it is cheaper to buy a uniform than buying a whole wardrobe for a child; saving time and money. However the truth is uniform prices are continuously increasing, the average cost of uniforms for one child approximately £160 and in retrospect that is a lot of money to pay particularly on top of equipment costs. Furthermore, is it really fair that parents should pay the extra expenses for a school uniform, when they are already paying taxes for free public education? No, it isn’t right. <p>On the contrary, do you not think that schools should be focusing on their teaching rather than insisting on a student’s uniform? I do. <p>Of course, if you want your child to lack freedom, personality and creativity; which would be required for their future, then uniform is clearly the best option. Personally I believe there should not be uniform as it simply does not allow children to be who they really are. A local school child explains; “We all deserve to be unique and original. Who wants to look the same as every person in the same school? Not me. I only want to express myself – being like everyone else is just boring, boring, boring!” <br /><!-- Blogger automated replacement: "https://images-blogger-opensocial.googleusercontent.com/gadgets/proxy?url=http%3A%2F%2Fhome.earthlink.net%2F~loismitchell%2FartWebsiteFiles%2FportUniform.jpg&container=blogger&gadget=a&rewriteMime=image%2F*" with "https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEgMiqOAvoQHSTBemkdfehQawFWXN0EDOGZuV3HVyCJA9uC0ZeyrsdbLEA7XJ6pTCOlNNS7Z9j62jDBtm4sjuxyqgQtp32lXRQtnLxk5NGBkqH0WXErcNfQM2NhBA2ie5MDyaJVHu-8mpIaVJxjnnNUWoGXBL2_rD5II7eQXctLWo7dNj9E-vgg=" -->Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09748835279316850854noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584962523649972338.post-82721977973395837932014-03-15T14:00:00.000-07:002014-03-15T14:00:00.720-07:00Pretty Pastels<p>Now that spring is on its way, the return on pastel clothing and items are back in the high-street, and this can only mean one thing…A Spring Pastel Wish list! </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-6BJbConfj-8/UxuJOsvwl4I/AAAAAAAAnF4/wK0snU6g4zQ/s1600-h/pastel%252520blog%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="pastel blog" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="pastel blog" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr8WdcnSNDKrGzPZFhqKK8lbzTu7NARGk64m75eDGGTYXmvqYMzmp4lv2fCFIbFxtCL83Qytm_uMVRUceLYhMyKu2cJEABwkOe-KPCoRG225CQA0u1BDXXAFnF90o4ZC1mNLJ8pFnqU5I/?imgmax=800" width="578" height="768"></a></p> <p>1) <a href="http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/playsuits-jumpsuits-2159081/v-neck-crepe-jumpsuit-by-wal-g-2759642?refinements=Colour%7b1%7d~%5bgreen%5d&bi=1&ps=20" target="_blank">Green Jumpsuit</a> – Topshop £36</p> <p>2) <a href="http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/knitwear-444/floral-crochet-front-jumper-2687219?refinements=Colour%7b1%7d~%5bblue%5d&bi=1&ps=20" target="_blank">Blue floral crochet jumper</a> – Topshop £36</p> <p>3) <a href="http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/skirts-449/mini-tulle-skirt-2695336?bi=1&ps=20" target="_blank">Pink mini tulip skirt</a> – Topshop £15</p> <p>4) <a href="http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/uk/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=5139461660911&parentid=WOMENS-DRESSES-EU" target="_blank">Stripe Dress</a> – Urban Outfitters £175</p> <p>5) <a href="http://www.bankfashion.co.uk/product/ribbon-pastel-shift-dress/139061/?cm_mmc=googleshop-_-PPC-_-Google-_-__keyword__&aid=1100&source=plusbox&keyword_id&remote_ad_id&matchtype&keyword=&mkwid=CtTp8m9r_dc&pcrid=36576981383&gclid=CODJmMfjg70CFeWw2wodFJYAlQ" target="_blank">Pink Shift Dress</a> – Bank £28</p> <p>6) <a href="http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/jeans/pastel-pink-skinny-jeans_300710571" target="_blank">Pink Skinny Jeans</a> – New Look £19.99</p> <p>7) <a href="http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/accessories/pastel-blue-mini-sports-watch-_296000944" target="_blank">Blue Sports Watch</a> – New Look £9.99</p> <p>8) <a href="http://uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_1,acc_1.9/5892834000" target="_blank">Blue Handbag</a> – Accessorize £27</p> <p>9) <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Models-Own-Fruit-Pastel-Nail-Polish-Collection_1325432/" target="_blank">Models Own nail varnish</a> – Boots £5</p> <p>10) <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Revlon-ColorBurst%E2%84%A2-Lip-Butter_1252852/?affwin&awc=2041_1394311166_32f0d4aaf06fc2593e8ef84deb896a8c&cm_mmc_o=-uubkbzfwlCjCKww5kbELCjCvi%20i9%20niioCjCC" target="_blank">Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter</a> – Boots £7.99</p> <p>Let me know what you think of my pastel wish list, and if you have any suggestions of your own! </p> Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09748835279316850854noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584962523649972338.post-24231900940910738872014-03-11T11:57:00.001-07:002014-03-11T11:57:08.287-07:00Southwold<p>Many of my recent instagram posts have been from some of my little trips to the famous Norfolk seaside town of Southwold. I love visiting Southwold because it is so cute and there is a cute walk all around the town, right up to the lifeboat station. The pier is also really great as there is lots of lovely food which is where i went on my most recent outing. The place we ate was by a window indoors and so overlooked the sea and was really pretty. Moreover, there is an old fashioned games/arcade area which is really good fun to visit as a family! </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-wG_5moopGAA/Ux9cbFXHTJI/AAAAAAAAnGQ/SsjOn8xV9GE/s1600-h/IMG_5047%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5047" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_5047" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoUD6TbSK4LVvcSJG_6bWir3QlkkIYbRykqtSbqATIfyDorYdlAl7iCZH6gRBQCmhoklOs2bGH91D0011xB77ZVfQ1FkMYhP-NEpLC4xBqEkBSk96Olo4dlhr0Rlz1-YiCVPQM7UNSkKA/?imgmax=800" width="640" height="478"></a></p> <p>A view from Southwold Pier.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-JU6VPQgTy_U/Ux9cdN8cstI/AAAAAAAAnGg/ZgsV1_TUeT0/s1600-h/IMG_5071%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5071" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_5071" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-mswtZjJ-mWU/Ux9cd8M2f_I/AAAAAAAAnGo/klp0XZTzHD0/IMG_5071_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="359" height="480"></a></p> <p>It was a really nice walk along the beach especially because the sun was very slowly setting! </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-OfaGk9jTQLI/Ux9cfMo1LSI/AAAAAAAAnGw/cYUQQlildqE/s1600-h/IMG_5069%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="IMG_5069" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="IMG_5069" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-0kVq1lGz00c/Ux9cgBiXswI/AAAAAAAAnG4/jNv5d07QyU0/IMG_5069_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="640" height="478"></a></p> <p>I hope you liked my pictures and feel inspired to go for a walk on the beach too! <br />
When I was younger I used to ADORE all of the exciting and thrilling Disney films. They were full of adventurous and entertaining stories about princesses, mermaids and other fantasies. The films were jam-packed with great sing-along songs which were mostly upbeat and catchy and to this day my sister still listens to them on her iPod. However is Disney everything you believed it to be?<br />
<br />
My very favourite Disney film was and still is Peter Pan. In case you didn't know, it is a story about a boy, named Peter, and he never wanted to grow up. He lived in a fantasy land with the lost boys who were his friends and an evil pirate called Captain Hook. Mermaids, crocodiles and Captain Hooks crew are also important characters in the story. Nevertheless, the story involves three children, Wendy and her two brothers who meet Peter and are taken to the Lost land where they get up to mischief and at the end fight Captain Hook in order to return home and the ending is of course a happy one. The main moral of the story was that "time chases us up” and we all grow up eventually. <br />
<br />
"To live would be an awfully big adventure."<br />
<br />
Back to the point; there is more behind the surface of this film. Now, I mentioned the mermaids earlier. These creatures are portrayed as beautiful women who comb their hair on a rock and portray the stereotypical view of a mermaid that we still know of today. However, if you were to watch the clip below, is that the same idea you receive, or do you gather a different image Disney portrayed of the mermaids?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<object class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="https://ytimg.googleusercontent.com/vi/tDTsWJQl_iE/0.jpg" height="266" width="320"><param name="movie" value="https://youtube.googleapis.com/v/tDTsWJQl_iE&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="https://youtube.googleapis.com/v/tDTsWJQl_iE&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></div>
<br />
<br />
No? Watch it again. <br />
<br />
From the video clip, what I see are the mermaids being portrayed in a way that Peter is superior and women are no way near as important. “Oh, Peter, Peter, look at me peter!”. This exclaims that Disney, not meaning to, portrays women in a wrong and unjust way. <br />
<br />
And its not just in Peter Pan! Mulan is a story of a woman who has to dress up as a man to receive her rights! She takes her fathers place to fight in the war, but if found out that she was a women, she would be killed. This is because women were not allowed to be soldiers. Furthermore, it is obvious men have power and at the beginning of the film, you watch the females dressing up to make themselves presentable for the males. Therefore, although they are good films, Disney has portrayed females with no rights and presents signs of sexism. <br />
<br />
<img src="http://www.wuxiaedge.com/wp-content/uploads/Disney_Cartoon_Mulan_Wallpaper.jpg" height="480" width="640" /><br />
<br />
In addition to this, recently in the news, Meryl Streep made a speech about Disney. According to newspaper articles “Women do not do any of the creative work in connection with preparing the cartoons for the screen, as that task is performed entirely by young men.” Therefore, could this be the reason for sexist portrayals in the films?! Who knows. <br />
<br />
Seeing as it is international woman's day this seemed an appropriate blog post. What does today mean to you? Personally today should encourage equality and remind us all that women still do not get treated fairly and do not have the same chances as men. I hope you found the post interesting and you feel inspired to share your opinions. Although i prefer to use coal or pencil to line my eyes on an everyday basis, i sometimes choose to wear liquid liner. I find it looks neater and of course more prominent. Also i know that it wont come off during the day, which is where pencil and coal has disadvantages. <br />
<br />
Despite occasionally having a little trouble with applying liquid liner, i still manage to do okay. I tend to take it slow and follow the lash line in small steps. I think applying it above the eye looks best however i i only think this because i haven't dared try under. To apply the liner, i hold it like and pencil and lean my hand on my cheek for support allowing me to create a smoother and neater thin line. Take your time when applying it and hold the liner so it is tilted to ensure the line is straight. <br />
<br />
My favourite eyeliner so far has been the <a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory%E2%84%A2-Supercat%E2%84%A2-Eyeliner-Pen-Carbon-Black-Extreme_1238278/?affwin&awc=2041_1393791312_2d7dee6292fa77a2f8b63624a446de4e&cm_mmc_o=-uubkbzfwlCjCKww5kbELCjCvi%20i9%20niioCjCC" target="_blank">Soap and Glory Supercatliner</a> because it is basically a felt tip pen. It is simple and super easy to use as it is light and the pen allows you to choose for both thick and thin lines. It also dries very quickly which i find a great advantage as i am always in a rush. I also find that some liquid liners aren't quite black enough, however this one i would definitely recommend because it is dark enough and i love it! I do not wear foundation however, i do use two types of concealer. I find the Soap and Glory Kick Ass concealer great for around the eyes and the powder which sets the concealer in place. However the 17 concealer is great for any redness and also for under my eyes. On a daily basis, i wear the Soap and Glory eye shadow which is great because it hides any dark parts of my eye and gives my eye more definition. </p> <p><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory%E2%84%A2-Kick-Ass-Concealer%E2%84%A2-Three-Piece-Camouflage-Kit-2-x-2-6g_1243294/" target="_blank">Soap and Glory Kick Ass concealer – eye and face concealer</a></p> <p><a href="http://reviews.boots.com/2111-en_gb/1295978/17-seventeen-stay-time-concealer-reviews/reviews.htm" target="_blank">17 concealer</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/SEVENTEEN-Brow-Sculpting-Pencil_1361786/" target="_blank">17 eyebrow pencil</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory%E2%84%A2-Its-About-Prime%E2%84%A2-Eyeshadow-Underbase_1243304/" target="_blank">Soap and Glory Its about the eyes – eye shadow primer under base</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory%E2%84%A2-You-Wont-Believe-Your-Eyes%E2%84%A2Tired-Eye-Re-Energising-Moisture-Serum_1364142/" target="_blank">Soap and Glory You wont believe your eyes - eye serum</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory%E2%84%A2-A-Great-Kisser%E2%84%A2-Lip-Balm-18g_1247917/" target="_blank">Soap and Glory A great kisser - lip balm</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory%E2%84%A2-Lid-Stuff%E2%84%A2-Flawless-Finish-Eyeshadow_1243290/" target="_blank">Soap and Glory lid stuff – eye shadow</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/make-up-431/eyes-470/kohl-pencil-in-sable-52685?bi=1&ps=20" target="_blank">Top shop kohl eye pencil</a></p> <p><a href="http://www.boots.com/en/Models-Own-Eyelash-Curler_1211210/" target="_blank">Models own eyelash curlers</a></p> <p>I hope you likes this post, i love having a little nosey in my friends makeup bag so feel free to let me know in the comments any suggestions and uses of your own!</p> Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09748835279316850854noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584962523649972338.post-30519451517675938752014-03-02T10:57:00.000-08:002014-03-02T10:57:00.038-08:00Lake Adventure<p>This weekend i went for a walk around a local lake. Therefore, although i can’t do revision for you, i can help make it more exciting! Despite sounding tedious, here are a few things I find handy and helpful when it comes to revision at the same time as making it a little fun!</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-XF284xqDQds/Uwo4xHBbxsI/AAAAAAAAnA0/Y73YJbcWiNk/s1600-h/DSC003453.jpg"><img title="DSC00345" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00345" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Nyq9z6UvBfg/Uwo4ya5E-WI/AAAAAAAAnA8/MHymkUgSumo/DSC00345_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="640" height="480"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-0LALMXUhT_Q/Uwo4zV3C1FI/AAAAAAAAnBE/ITioAuMlBpM/s1600-h/DSC003403.jpg"><img title="DSC00340" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00340" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-xEsXgijYWXA/Uwo40JzTikI/AAAAAAAAnBM/FVGr2nVzDGY/DSC00340_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="640" height="480"></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Ue7VYU-R75U/Uwo41ASE_RI/AAAAAAAAnBU/GYuWR9xRZZ8/s1600-h/DSC003423.jpg"><img title="DSC00342" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00342" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuJST0htoiBNz16Ba49CS0ut4V8gAMX8DBnqa5tXH_DiEsDv01crLr0i8-BDLT1YYe9C8E7dNqXDghpJVDI4LwROjZfn82qCg9SASe1yDAJTX7ujR9lXQ4-4mqhdygHjIPTAdqtM9eCIE/?imgmax=800" width="640" height="480"></a></p> <p>1) Notebooks!</p> <p>For me, one way of making revision more exciting or at least a bit more bearable, i use different and pretty designed notebooks. I use these to write lists, fill in my revision timetable or even do work in. Nevertheless, i believe that having nice coloured notebooks helps with revision.</p> <p>2) Revision Timetable</p> <p>No revision can be done without a basic plan. A revision timetable is of course, personal to you, however i think its essential to have one in order to know the basis of what you are supposed to be doing; what topic and subject and when. There are many online websites to help you with these and even a few apps, but its definitely a must have!</p> <p>3) Highlighters</p> <p>My lifesavers. Highlighters are the best things you can have in your life because they are helpful with everything. Whether you are mind mapping, making notes or just writing a list, highlighters are amazing. The ones i have are really cool as they are double sided, therefore i can underline too and for neat organised people like me, they would be great to use.</p> <p>4) Coloured Pens</p> <p>These are great mainly for mind maps because they are ‘brain-friendly’ as a famous teacher of mine once said. The use of different colours and pictures really does stimulate the mind and therefore i definitely recommend investing in some!</p> <p>5) Sticky tack</p> <p>No other reason has sticky tack been mentioned except for the use of sticking mind maps and helpful revision posters on the wall. Many people learn well from this because being surrounded in a few key notes can sometimes catch your eye and jog your memory. </p> <p>6) Paper clips</p> <p>What would i do without paper clips? I have no idea because i would be nothing without the organisation of paperclips. These are just great for collecting work and pilling up sheets of paper into sections. I grabbed some of my paperclips from <a href="http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/" target="_blank">Ikea</a>, accessorize and staples. </p> <p>7) Tipp-ex </p> <p>This is genuinely handy when writing notes up in neat. Personally i get bothered when not all of my work is neat, so the use of tipp-ex ensures my work looks nice and presentable. Furthermore, i prefer using these tape type tipp-ex because it doesn't smell as much. </p> <p>8) Ring-binders</p> <p>Ring binder folders are great for revision, work and organisation in general. For me i have a huge ring binder just for current revision which is great because everything is therefore kept in one place. </p> <p>9) Food and Drink</p> <p>No revision <strong>survival</strong> kit would be a good one without nice treats like food and drink. I love buying milkshakes and little chocolaty snacks, however it is important to eat lots of fruit too, because its good for you! </p> <p>10) Music</p> <p>Of course, music is a great technique for revision. Actually, it has been proven music helps with revision because a tune helps you to remember facts. However this does not work for everyone and side note; music with lyrics does not work! </p> <p> </p> <p>I hope my little tips helped, feel free to comment and other tips, techniques and items that you find great for revision!</p> Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09748835279316850854noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584962523649972338.post-23049912936835437122014-02-20T08:07:00.001-08:002014-02-20T08:12:11.301-08:00I'm stuck here on this island…Considering it is Thursday, I have decided to do a little ‘throw-back’ from when I saw <a href="http://twinatlantic.com/" target="_blank">Twin Atlantic</a> live. On Monday the 5th of November 2012, I went to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwich" target="_blank">Norwich</a>, UEA LCR with a couple of my firends to see Twin Atlantic perform with support of the brilliant <a href="http://www.charliesimpsonmusic.com/" target="_blank">Charlie Simpson</a> from <a href="http://www.busted.com/" target="_blank">Busted</a> (do you remember him?!) and <a href="http://www.deadsara.com/" target="_blank">Dead Sara</a>. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ArRb1xNQBdI/UwYoILB0I8I/AAAAAAAAm_c/R1qKI4yXJWM/s1600-h/Charlie-Simpson-Norwich-UEA-4%25255B3%25255D.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="Charlie-Simpson-Norwich-UEA-4" border="0" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-unemlelj5TU/UwYoJIwRonI/AAAAAAAAm_k/_u3lLHluQ84/Charlie-Simpson-Norwich-UEA-4_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" height="428" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Charlie-Simpson-Norwich-UEA-4" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Charlie Simpson</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
As we walked into the venue, luckily we managed to grab ourselves a comfortable spot on the steps where we could see clearly. Personally, i was a little disappointed with Dead Sara, however on the other hand, when Charlie Simpson came on, I was very excited. I knew all of the songs he played and i really enjoyed the set. <br />
Next Twin Atlantic came on and we knew they were about to come on stage because Bohemian Rhapsody began to play. The lights were flashing and the crowd were cheering excited for the entrance of Twin Atlantic. Their set mainly consisted of their new album ‘Free’ but they played a few songs from their other albums too! If you want to read more about Twin Atlantics ‘Free’ album <a href="http://letsadventureblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/free.html" target="_blank">click here</a> because i wrote a post last month about it. <br />
“I think i just needed a rush”, I love these lines in their song ‘Yes i was drunk’ because they really suited my feelings during the gig. I love seeing bands live precisely for this reason. <br />

These are my favourite items and products at the moment!</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsRFDiyprnM8UUfPXlWtgQVhXvpiSJqg4Ojlot-cheXuScjpdYZ7EaKTtPtKynfi3XwfHDzblozLNKS02_7KH9IfQ_cOP-BcpyOU-T5qhXU0YCIN02llcPlpfVxf4dPk_b8A2ixgMCuug/s1600-h/DSC00252%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC00252" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00252" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-19eCaonW-tc/UwMxegEbKrI/AAAAAAAAm-M/vjf_zg3djLg/DSC00252_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="640" height="480"></a></p> <p>This watch was actually a Christmas present however, i am aware that it came from <a href="http://www.lisaangel.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lisa Angel</a>. I’ve wanted a vintage type watch for so long and this is definitely the nicest one i have seen! I absolutely love it and it’s definitely a great buy! I really love the hands on the watch and the vintage feel along with the studded strap which makes it a little more modern.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuaWtHEI3jhb3vMzIfANXIc_xnNNf3WQubZgkpBzD9nmYy0o9N7JqomaE1ex40XyPTJHROwc2nMaaPQ-B4JrbHlcBLLjWtzqj9Cd8G4v1E98Y5fR4m8B2_TDppYrl_OFjnt3L3TAvLxZs/s1600-h/DSC00251%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC00251" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZUwp64xTmXCB3nV5_rID9zQJRhQ_lzGC3nWJrx8Un-u1LGoYdV49g_Pm3xiE4ypMMzdp79G-BwYg6p31HoVTGUYmTUk84MM6XfhwCxoMDqgFJKkURPFtAMACg50fDhlpTTFl5zpaknxg/?imgmax=800" width="360" height="480"></a></p> <p>This nail varnish was such a good buy! I bought this early last year and I've used it whenever i have had the chance to paint my nails. Its just a really lovely glittery top coat and its definitely worth the money. Moreover, the make 17 is one of my all time favourites as the brush makes it easy to apply and the varnish is always a good consistency as some cheaper makes clog up quickly. </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ARG0Nx9--gM/UwMxhhq6NnI/AAAAAAAAm-k/h1Oqpv11yu0/s1600-h/DSC00246%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC00246" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTCLj51x9KCiCSDluRxSyQcdlO7Go0FtgzmmkKcbDwlSVTFIAHHVUndamfxq9VPBu4rVnJJLqz1vWLpo_lp_Y3HabrIuCOiJrUqY34RrqdNVmXZTxWjxWGqozhY50S1mOLwwzmKzx808Y/?imgmax=800" width="640" height="480"></a></p> <p>This cute little “Live the life you love” sign was from <a href="http://www.sassandbelle.co.uk/" target="_blank">Sass and belle</a>. Its a shop i am not too familiar with however, when i visited Brighton on holiday last year, I popped in and instantly fell in love with some of their products. Its a shop very similar to Lisa Angel but slightly less popular as I know there aren't many shops around the Uk. However if you do live nearby to one, definitely pop in and take a look!</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-sU4IYFvJelM/UwMxjGbMQxI/AAAAAAAAm-w/bym-fTcNwfg/s1600-h/DSC00245%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC00245" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00245" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-WTXVnkcayjY/UwMxj-pR1pI/AAAAAAAAm-8/3THXSCoNN94/DSC00245_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="640" height="480"></a></p> <p>This has to be my all time favourite pendant necklace! It came from <a href="http://uk.accessorize.com/" target="_blank">Accessorize</a>, and although it was quite expensive (£10!) I haven't stopped wearing it! Despite the price, it was definitely a good buy because its really pretty and it goes with everything I wear!</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-EdKvXytiOiw/UwMxkiv5UDI/AAAAAAAAm_E/9o5RE4vBH0w/s1600-h/DSC00244%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC00244" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC00244" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-f_tRBhdj6wE/UwMxld05JoI/AAAAAAAAm_M/BeaWX-fab_g/DSC00244_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="640" height="480"></a></p> <p>These earrings are an extra. I bought these when I went on holiday to Tunisia. The metal is real silver and there were quite expensive however a lot cheaper than they would have been in the UK. I love them and think they are really pretty. Furthermore the hand of fatima is really fashionable and brings good luck! Every little bit of luck helps! </p> <p> </p> <p>So there you have it. They are my current favourites! Let me know in the comments some of your favourites! </p> Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09748835279316850854noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584962523649972338.post-73730868213428432542014-02-11T12:19:00.001-08:002014-02-25T11:15:20.456-08:00Bucket ListSo, I just thought it might be nice for me to share my bucket list with you guys! My aim was to get their early so that it wouldn't be too dark walking but as per usual I was later than intended. When i got to the lake, due to the early winter evenings the sun was then setting. Because of this, as I walked round the lake there were the most beautiful views of the sunset and so i thought i would take advantage of this and show the some pictures of the afternoon.<br />

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my pictures, and i hope it gives you inspiration to go for a little exploration one afternoon too! I went on the coastal walk from Overstrand to Cromer and back over the beach. The sun was shining and despite being very chilly the coast walk was really nice.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiysBJpSnhpp-llEKxyq-C7nESHGXVAdfj0PbD0BcY5_Sqwx14uX-C1QOU4utiOiVhgAC9pzU3EDedd40HX9dDREX_Ef_PCyxZnOQmHQQ_vFniVtGa0TLOLvoTgqrpbw_1lJ5N1wvwjaRU/s1600-h/IMG_5217%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img alt="IMG_5217" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZOoZ0pKQagTPo2art2KUxOnurECewpATZnoQdRIEJitmXWb487tx3uyWdKTA8rVht_c23IgQeVUnlBmpScy1NwrUpbCJAhbgnSBbP-xmWFSLJDCWYxk-Cf6lOhXL2TpT4GV0tL_vTHE0/?imgmax=800" height="146" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="IMG_5217" width="400" /></a><br />
Once we arrived in Cromer, it was time for lunch so we went to the Rocket House Café which has amazing food! <br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-KEvxD4AwFB0/Uu6RTxtlv6I/AAAAAAAAm4Q/Jl_Ba4Cwpd8/s1600-h/IMG_5223%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img alt="IMG_5223" border="0" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Io2qtYc_qSo/Uu6RUtvyQEI/AAAAAAAAm4Y/GiL3aTlyZVI/IMG_5223_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="298" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="IMG_5223" width="400" /></a><br />

Then we had travelled back on the beach and saw the damage the tide surge, which hit the Norfolk coasts late last year, had caused. It was sad to see all of the beach huts destroyed and there was loads of debris on the edges of the beach, which really makes you realise the damage the sea can cause! <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwQm5dm3EMV9TG_VZ50w5A7cTr0lNQxvTDEmwkkGyQwDxqKemftTJ6bKN9ygG903jxHzMDSwFSL996Gc4axICz1j1rFy7rvTHly_P2gTVbiNvIGHjudsOHKjpq1jgjv4de74lNs7eHreA/s1600-h/524649_10150756478787910_27970832909_9575438_729239795_n%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img alt="524649_10150756478787910_27970832909_9575438_729239795_n" border="0" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-RPnce6xZQ74/UuwEpxyYmJI/AAAAAAAAm0g/ZKwFgoqeUfw/524649_10150756478787910_27970832909_9575438_729239795_n_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" height="480" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="524649_10150756478787910_27970832909_9575438_729239795_n" width="339" /></a> <br />

Support came from; <a href="http://www.marmozets.co.uk/" target="_blank">Marmozets</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Your_Demise" target="_blank">Your Demise</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Are_the_In_Crowd" target="_blank">We Are The In Crowd</a>. <br />
We (Me and my Dad) walked into the venue and the atmosphere was amazing, although I had not heard <a href="http://www.marmozets.co.uk/" target="_blank">Marmozets</a> before I enjoyed nodding along to their set, and then came <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Your_Demise">Your Demise</a>. As soon as they appeared on stage an explosion of energy came too! I cannot say I <em>love </em>their music but they definitely got the crowd ‘going’. We Are The In Crowd were the only support I had previously listened to and had heard of before, and I was particularity looking forward to their set. Despite not playing my favourite song they were really great and got me in the mood for Young Guns to come on. <br />

The lights were flashing and the crowd were cheering for the entrance of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Guns_%28band%29" target="_blank">Young Guns</a>. As Gustav Woods (lead singer) came on stage everyone was excited for the set. Their set mainly consisted of their new album ‘Bones’ (which I still to this day absolutely LOVE) but they also played a few songs from their other album ‘All our kings are dead’.<br />
By far an amazing experience I shall never forget, this gig was great! <br />

Free is an album written by a Scottish band called <a href="http://twinatlantic.com/">Twin Atlantic</a> who formed in early 2007. <br />
The album is about being free (of course), taking life one day at a time but also living life to the full! The album artwork is what truly interested me because I discovered that each picture is part of one of their songs in the album. For example, I believe the gas container is a take on the song ‘Free’ named after the album because the lyrics include; “I set my body on fire so I could be free”. <br />
In my opinion this is such a great album and I really do love listening to it, especially when I am in a bad mood because it never fails to cheer me up. My favourite lyrics are all on the image below which was cleverly placed into the outlines of the artwork. <br />

So, I themed her nails as the Girl On Fire like in the Hunger Games. If you like them, here’s how I did it… <br />

This design is probably best on natural long nails. First apply a base coat, then get a sponge (I cut one up from a kitchen sponge) and dab the red nail varnish on the corner of the sponge. Practice on a piece of paper first then sponge the top of the nail, where the cuticle is. Then, put some orange nail varnish on a different corner on the sponge and again practice before sponging in the middle of the nail, slightly overlapping the red to smudge and blend, mixing the colours and making an orange colour in the middle of the nail. Repeat again for the yellow except at the end of the nail, then brush over the nail with one coat of gold sparkly nail varnish and finish with a top coat. Although this takes a while to do due to time taken for the varnish to dry, its worth it because the overall result looks fab! A little tip though: You may get polish on the edges and around your finger so use a cue tip and nail varnish remover to get rid of this. <br />
